Students at the brand-new Clemente Leadership Academy in New Haven, Connecticut started the new school year with brand new interactive technology, according to WTNH news.
Each of the school's classrooms have five computers, smartboards and a
classroom projector to provide students with the tools they need to be prepared for the future.
School officials have also introduced academic plans specifically designed for each student to meet their educational needs.
Principal Leroy Williams said "the day of sitting in a class and every child learning the same way is not the case," the news provider relays. The aim of the new technology is to close the achievement gap, as a way of creating more advanced education opportunities for all students.
The kindergarten-through eighth grade-school is one of many springing up across the country that combine smart technology with projectors in the classroom. By providing students with cutting-edge technology, educators hope to create a learning atmosphere that encourages students to participate and become more involved in lessons.
