Now that 2010 is nearing a close, it's time to start looking toward the future. This is exactly what video game reviewer IGN did when it released its preemptive list of the top 10 Xbox 360 games of 2011.
The list features such notable upcoming titles as Batman: Arkham City and Portal 2. But it was BioWare and Electronic Art's Mass Effect 3 that took the top spot.
This should come as little surprise, considering IGN recently named Mass Effect 2 the top Xbox 360 game of 2010. The reviewer noted that Mass Effect 3 will likely follow in 2's footsteps if the game builds on the decisions made in the previous two installments.
Gamers have until late next year to get up to speed before Mass Effect 3 hits shelves. Available now on Xbox 360 and coming for PlayStation 3 in January, Mass Effect 2 can be enjoyed best by connecting the gaming console to an HD-TV, LED monitor or
DLP projector to display it picture in high-definition clarity.
Bioware project director Casey Hudson recently said this will be the final installment of the current story line, Shacknews.com reports.
