Activision and Marvel recently announced the newest Spider-Man video game will be available this fall. And this time around, in addition to rescuing New York City, Mary Jane and countless innocent lives, the web-slinger will be tasked with saving time itself.
In Spider-Man: Edge of Time, gamers will assume the roles of both the classic Spider-Man and the futuristic Spider-Man 2099, as they work together to repair a rift in the time stream and prevent the death of Peter Parker. The game is being developed by Activision-owned Beenox with the story written by renowned comic book author Peter David.
According to Marvel, the game includes cause-and-effect gameplay, in which an action performed in one time period can drastically alter the events of another. For fans of the wise-cracking web-slinger, Spider-Man: Edge of Time can be best enjoyed by setting a system up to an HDTV, LED monitor or HDMI projector.
Activision did not announce on which platforms the game will be available, but MTV.com said it will likely appear on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
